There is a training day on 25th July for those who have entered Ayr OW Triathlon. The day is aimed specifically for those who are new to triathlon or open water swimming, and would like an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the bike route and / or would like an introduction to open water swimming. However the more experinced are welcome to come along. The sessions will be led by a performance squad coach.

Bike session
objective - course familiraisation
time - 11:15, changed and ready to roll
venue - Castle Walk car park [beside millenium bridge at the start of the triathlon]
equipment - roadworthy bike [please do not bring a time trial bike, unless it is all you have], helmet, cycling kit, spare tube
format - exceptionally easy group ride around the bike course, wtih pointers on what to look for on race day, with option of fininshing the ride fast as you wish]

Open Water Swim Session
objective - open water familiarisation and acclimatisation, open water swimming skills including drafting, sighting, wet suit removal etc
time - 12:15 for 12:30 start
venue - Castle Walk car park [beside millenium bridge at the start of the triathlon], swim in the River Doon
equipment - wetsuit, bright coloured swim cap, goggles, warm clothes for after
format - 30min coach led swim in River Doon, around the race route.

You can come to one session or the other.
If you want to go all the way and go for a run afterwards there will be a map provided for the run route.
There is no charge for these sessions, they are free.
